2cnd Annual Auntie Day

Last year, the Costopoulos family launched a new tradition: Aunts Day. Henceforth the last Sunday in May will be Auntie Day. We have Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day and all manners of Days...but no one has thought about aunts. Yet when I look at my celibate daughters doting over their nephew and niece, the love and devotion they have for those kids, I say it is high time to do something to honor that aspect of familyhood. So next Sunday we wil have the Aunts Special Dinner, Alexis (14) and Arianne (3) will be , hopefully, on their best behaviour and mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law will pitch toghether to get them  something they wil love.  Pass the word around, celibate aunties are a  forgotten and neglected part of our society. Let's right the wrong.

  1. C'est meveillieux, Potsoc! Merci!

My unmarried daughter is wonderful with her nephew and niece. Vraiment.

C'est la famille. C'est très bien.

  2. Nous avons commencé cette fête l'an dernier. Cette année mes filles nous l'ont rappelée. We better keep it going.

  3. celibate aunties ... c'est la famille, Rob_Bear is right. My wife's sister, zia Cicci, no kids and separated, is so close to our daughters they love her so much, and the same happens with my unmarried sister Cecilia. The women, c'est la famille! And the un-married women, oh even more!

Even if I have trop de famille dans ce sense, viva le zie, (aunties) sono il sale della vita!
